History: Homewood Park operated on the Denver Mountain Park's
property off of South Deer Creek Canyon Road.  It was ran by the
Eriksen family of Norway.  They settled in the area in 1918 and began
offering skiing two years later.  Other area activities included "good
skating on a privately owned lake."  A proposal in 1929 by residents of
Denver was to create a professional hockey team at this site, which never
materialized.  In 1942, the area installed a sled tow as the area's means of
transportation.
