History:
Powder Puff opened back in 1965 just outside of Red River. The area
was a beginner ski hill that specialized in teaching first time skiers. The
area was sold in 1980 to the Red River Ski Area and its name was
changed to The Woodlands Ski Basin. Red River continued to operate
the small beginner hill for three years but eventually decided to close the
area and bring the first time skier lessons to the main ski area. According
to TCS, the lifts were standing in 1994, but were removed by 2006.
