Dates Operated: 1960 - 1961
Stats: 1 beginner run
Facilities: 1 base lodge
Lifts: 1 T-Bar (Roebling)
History: Frank Kistler initially proposed the area in 1956. He
contacted Dick Durrance and Willy Schaeffler to conduct feasibility
studies. The Forest Service was later contact with the areas plans,
which included ski runs and lifts on public lands. In 1960, the F.S.
decided not to issue the area a permit because of marginal historical
snowfall in the area. The Redstone Development Company, which was
in charge of building the area, decided to add a short T-bar on private
land. Redstone opened on December 25, 1960, for the first time. The
area later closed in March due to lack of snow. The area has since
been closed.
Note: This area is on private property!
